SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket last night, carrying its Dragon cargo vessel to the International Space Station (ISS). An instantaneous launch window, the Falcon 9 lifted off at 12:45am ET from Launch Complex 40, in Cape Canaveral, FL.
CRS-9 is SpaceX's ninth launch under NASA's Commercial Resupply Services contract. The Dragon spacecraft, now separated from the rocket and flying on its own power, will arrive at the ISS early in the morning July 20.
NASA TV will broadcast the rendezvous and capture live July 20, at 5:30am ET, with vehicle birthing scheduled for 9:45am ET.
